After nearly a decade-long partnership, Adidas has ended their partnership with Kanye West following the rapper’s recent series of anti-Semitic remarks.

On Tuesday (Oct 25), the German sportswear made an official announcement that they have terminated their partnership effective immediately. It’s been reported that this will cost Adidas about $246 million.

“Adidas does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech,” Adidas said in a statement. “Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness. After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his companies. Adidas will stop the Adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect.”

Hours later, American clothing and accessory retailer Gap immediately removed Ye’s Yeezy products from its stores. They also shut down YeezyGap.com, which now redirects to Gap’s homepage. Following Adidas’ announcement, Forbes announced that Kanye is no longer a billionaire.

Adidas and Gap are just one of the few partnerships that have been terminated following Kanye’s recent antics. In the past few days, Balenciaga, talent agency CAA, and longtime record label Def Jam all have decided to cut ties with the rapper.

During Paris Fashion Week, Kanye West wore a shirt with the slogan “White Lives Matter” at his Yeezy Season 9 show and has since repeatedly made anti-Semitic remarks in interviews and on social media.
