Interim departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia have been created in the territories of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions under Russian control, police officers are fighting manifestations of extremism, work has been organized to issue Russian passports. This is stated on the agency's website.
“Employees of temporary units <…> started protecting public order on the streets of cities, ensuring road safety, conducting operational-search activities and investigative work, assisting in the formation of local police departments. Permanent issuance of Russian passports to the population has been organized. The fight against manifestations of extremism is underway,— The report says.
The department noted that the territorial bodies are still at the stage of formation.
Establishment of centers for obtaining Russian passports in the Kherson region has also become known in May. In June, such centers appeared in the Zaporozhye region, part of which is under the control of Russian troops.
